Hostile Youth Takeover
... it was inevitable. Writer at www.haustenstreet.com.
Chuuwee - from Sacramento, California. Leader of rap collective T.U.S., Work ethic that rivals Curren$y’s. Newly signed to Amalgam Digital.
Chuuwee’s been on my radar for a while now ever since I first saw a 2dopeboyz post of his project, Hot n Ready w/ Lee Bannon. He’s STAYED on my radar by putting out consistent, ever progressive works. Now, when I say his work ethic rivals that of Curren$y’s, that’s not to be taken lightly. In just the past 5 months alone, Chuuwee has released 3 full length projects, all with 12 + tracks each, along with numerous guest features and singles. To put this further into perspective; according to his bandcamp, he has 7 mixtapes/projects…and that’s only since 2010. What sets him apart from his peers however is his impeccable ear for beats and the attention he puts towards his lyrics. When one listens to Chuuwee, it’s almost as if you’re back in the early 90’s golden era of hip-hop. His lyrics are real and he pays great attention to his rhyming technique, switching up his flow time and time again. Combine that with an energetic voice and a unique rhyme style, you truly get a one of a kind artist. Hopefully he gets the push and shine he deserves now that he’s signed to Amalgam. Regardless though, for fans of golden-era rap (or rap in general), don’t dismiss Chuuwee. He’s one of few emcees still emceeing.
